Student Center

One of my earliest memories at the Student Center, a campus ministry of CBCP, located beside the Philippine Institute of Quezon City (PIQC).

I designed creative fellowships using relevant topics, visual elements, and multisensory preaching to connect biblical truths with students’ everyday lives. My goal was to make the Student Center a place where students could build meaningful relationships and grow in their faith.

I created social media promotions to capture the students’ attention in a world full of competing distractions, from basketball, playing games to hanging out with friends. My goal was to make the Student Center a compelling choice for fellowship and spiritual growth.

Zoned Out became one of my most-attended fellowships at the Student Center. It was rewarding to see how creative programming and intentional promotion could turn a vision into meaningful student participation.

A follow-up to Zoned Out, 50 Shades of Grace led to invitations to facilitate sessions at college youth camps of CBCP and Grace Christian Church, extending my work beyond the Student Center.

Following 50 Shades of Grace, students shared their appreciation for what they had learned. With my birthday just around the corner, their messages became an unexpected and meaningful gift.

When I was invited to serve as a counsellor at a youth camp, I envisioned a day when my Student Center disciples could experience the same. I shared that hope with the camp leader, driven by a desire to create opportunities for them to grow in faith and community.

A few years later, my vision became a reality. My Student Center disciples finally had the opportunity to experience the camp I had hoped they could be part of.

This was the Student Center community when we started. It was a small group, but it was the beginning of something God would continue to grow.

Seeing how much the Student Center grew in the years that followed reminds me of God's faithfulness. What began as a small community became a much larger fellowship of students.
